It's been another interesting week in the sphere of the Forness triplets and Mom and Dad. 

I took Monday and Tuesday off work expecting baby Owen to have surgery to put his stoma back together.  We were told last week that he would have surgery on Monday August 3rd.  Something wasn't sitting right with me on Friday, it just felt off.  Well, when I went to the hospital after work, I realized why. 

Owen had picked up projectile vomiting as a habit and so they cut off his feeds and put him on a bunch of tests over the course of a few days.  It turns out that the ultrasound on Monday confirmed that he had Pyloric Stenosis.  Basically, this is a thickening of the muscles around the opening from his stomach to his intestines.  As such, he can't pass anything through, so back up it comes.

The surgery for this one is not a big deal and is generally very successful.  They want to do the two surgeries together since they will be in there anyway for the stoma.  So he got bumped Monday and put on Tuesday's schedule but a couple of emergency surgeries with other patients bumped him off that too.  So we are in a wait and see pattern on that, but unfortunately, deadlines at work prevent me from taking any more time off.

Bella in a crib

Bella Marie got placed in a crib on Tuesday night.  And we also started bottle feeding her for ten minutes per shift that night.  She did phenomenol when Nikki fed her.  She nearly finished the whole bottle in that short of a time frame and burped on queue.  I think she may end up being the first baby to come home from the hospital.

Noah Getting the Spa Treatment

Noah looks like a completely different baby.  He had a fantastic week and the cocktail of diuretics is finally doing their work.  He was so puffy for a few weeks that you couldn't even see his eyes.  Now he looks terrific and he seems like he is so much more comfortable.  He is sprinting for eight hours at a time and will hopefully be on the canula for good, soon.

Noah – 5lbs 10oz

Owen – 4lbs 5oz

Bella – 4lbs 2oz
