Owen's Surgery – Redux
Hi Friends, just a quick update on today's earlier post. Owen did in fact have his surgery today. They successfully reconnected his small and large intestine and cut the muscle that was causing his Pyloric Stenosis. You can see his little Giraffe bandaid on his belly where his Stoma once was.
He's quite sedated and will be on the ventilator for a couple of days. They gave him a blood transfusion again, about five hours after surgery.
From this point they watch the wound real close. Obviously a preemie, especially one in a hospital setting, is susceptible to infection.
My understanding is that he won't be eating still till he starts to pass waste into his diaper somewhat regularly. He can take some lessons on that from his brother Noah, because man, that kid can poop. Everytime I call the nurses they always say, "well, Noah is a little gassy today." The poor kid has a little stink cloud over his bed everyday. I'm not sure but I think he gets that from Uncle Tony. Kidding…
So Mom and Dad are quite relieved and this whole ordeal just starts to bring me closer to my spirituality that was lost down the rabbit hole when I went away to college 15 years ago. I'm just utterly amazed at the power of prayer in all this.
Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know what was going on. Tomorrow morning we're back to our regularly scheduled blogging with a Haiku Life Lesson on Personal Finance.

Hi Melissa, so great to hear from you. My wife has recently decided to stay home with the babies when they come home and we worry about adult interaction when that happens. Do you know of, or participate in, any support groups for triplets? Any information you can pass along would be terrific, Thank you.
Also, are you the one who knows my friends Chuck and Lisa Fischer? I think they live down by Lakeview. I work with both of them and they mentioned a neighbor who had triplets. Chuck had told me about the choo choo and so I wondered if you are the same person they are referring to?

Hi, yes I am Chuck and Lisa's neighbor, small world!! I am not part of any triplet groups, I was only able to find a local moms of twins group, but am unable to do because my husband and I work opposite shifts so I can't really get out to go to the monthly meetings. I work part time so I am able to get my adult "fix" in that way. If you ever have any questions or want suggestions on how to manage life once the trio come home, please just ask anything. I am very scheduled with the boys, keeps us all sane
Although things are busy, life with the boys has been better than we could ever imagine. You and your wife can do it,it is just me and my hubby to take care of the boys from day 1, no nanny's, never any hired help, never any overnight help, never anyone but us to take care of all 3 and honestly I think that is why things do go so smooth. You are now a member of the parents of multiples club and it is the best!! Talk to you soon, Melissa@Charley Forness:
